Anonymous: I don't get this one: If in d block—energy level = period – 1; If in f block—energy level = period – 2.

if it’s s and p block, you just copy the period number for the energy level. if it passes through the d-block, you’d have to subtract 1 from the period number for the energy level. same goes for f block, only you have to subtract 2.
